AU Engines BIO

Here are the engines of the North Western Railway in my AU.

Thomas the Tank Engine

Thomas the Tank Engine
Thomas the Tank Engine's modern look.jpg

This is Thomas the Tank Engine's modern look. Thomas is now a proper E2 tank engine along with his two surviving brothers, Husky and Wolf. I know that people said that Thomas with a flat running board is a modern look for him and I agree with them. However, while I have soft spot for people who like Thomas with a flat running board, I still prefer my favorite little blue tank engine with the dipped running board because 1. Thomas with a dipped running board is the one I grew up when watching the TV show, 2. Thomas looks more recognizable with the dipped running board to me, and 3. it makes Thomas look like a proper E2 tank engine. I also gave Thomas hand rails on both sides of his smoke-box because in both the Railway series and the TV series, he doesn't have handrails on him, even the Big World Big Adventures era, Thomas doesn't have handrails on both sides of his smoke-box. I also drew the North Western Railway on his coal bunker section because I do that in my AU. One more thing, Thomas is shown to be short just like how he was shown in both the Railway series books and the TV show. I hope you guys like it.

Edward the Blue Engine

Edward the Blue Engine
Edward the Blue Engine's modern look.jpg

Here we have Edward the Blue Engine in his modern look. He was retrofitted back to a proper Furness Railway K2 tender engine and his tender was rebuilt to have the Furness Railway K2s. Another thing, I also drew Edward's wheel arches with yellow lining on top of them because that's what they had in real life. I also gave Edward's pony truck wheels some wheel deflectors as some of the Furness Railway K2s  had them in real life. Looks like the old engine of Sodor is ready for the modern world in his proper shape.

Henry the Green Engine

Heny the Green Engine
Henry the Green Engine's modern look.jpg

Here we have Henry the Green Engine in what he looks like in his modern look in my AU. I have to say that Henry the Big Green Engine looks amazing in the way I drew him. He looks like a realistic LMS Stannier Black 5 tender engine. I wanted to keep Henry to look like a Black 5 because in the TV series, Henry was shown with wheel arches in season 2 and for the rest of the show and that's something I didn't like at all, although admittedly I drew the big green engine with wheel arches, I wasn't very satisfied with it. Another thing, I kept the LMS Black 5 tender on Henry because he looks good with the LMS Black 5 tender. I won't draw Henry with a fowler tender because the fowler tender looks silly because in those illustrations of the railway series in Wilbert and Christopher Awdry's books, Henry is shown with a fowler tender which I didn't like at all. I drew the North Western Railway logo on Henry's cab because Henry is part of the North Western Railway and I also kept his special white circle with a black cross on the top of his smoke box because I think Henry looks nice with it on. One more thing, Henry's personalities are the same as his Railway Series and TV series (1-5) and like in season 3 and later seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, Henry is still a nature lover. He isn't like his CGI counterpart where he is a complete wimp and a coward because Henry being scared of everything isn't Henry. And that's how Henry in the modern era in my AU is. I hope you all like it and if so let me know you're thoughts on my version of Henry and your Head-Canon of him.

Gordon the Express Engine

This is what Gordon the Express Engine looks like in the modern era of my AU. He has the same color scheme as Thomas and Edward, but his rebuilt shape after the Kirk Ronan Station indecent remains the same. I have to say that Gordon looks very good and ready for the modern era of the world ahead of him along side his friends.

James the Red Engine

James the Red Engine
James the Red Engine's modern look.jpg

Here is the splendid red engine himself, James the Red Engine. As you can see, he was rebuilt into a proper L&YR class 28 mogul tender engine. His front wheel arches have the L&YR class 28 wheel arches and his fowler tender was rebuilt to his L&YR class 28 tender. James's rebuilt was in 2020 as his Christmas present. In 2021, he was given blue stripes on his wheel arches, his tender, his North Western Railway logos and his number 5 to match what he looks like in the Railway series books. I really like how I made James. He now looks like the splendid red engine of the Island of Sodor.

Percy the Small Engine

Percy the Small Engine

Here we have Percy the Small Engine in the modern era of Sodor in my AU. I really like how I drew the little green saddle tank engine. I also like how I made the North Western Railway logo on Percy's cab along with the red strip boxes. He really looks like a splendid sight to see. I hope you all like this.

Toby the Tram Engine

Toby the Tram Engine

Here is the old tram engine himself, Toby. Toby, in my AU resembles his Railway series counterpart very well. I gave him a chocolate brown color and blue side plates on his cowcatchers after he and Percy rescued James from a nasty accident. He also has a brown nameplate with red frames on top of his number 7 and he also has a builders plate with the North Western Railway logo and the number 7. He also has the North Western Railway logos on both sides of his cowcatchers. I really like how Toby came out. One more thing, I want Toby to have his Railway Series personalty because in the CGI series of Thomas the Tank Engine and friends, Toby is also a complete coward and is scared of everything. I hope guys like it.

Duck the Great Western Engine

Duck the Great Western Engine
Duck the Great Western Engine's modern look.jpg

Here is Duck the Great Western Engine. As you can see by the way I drew him, he is a 5700 pannier tank engine. He was number 5741 during the Great Western Railway days. After his incident with the barbershop, he was repainted in the North Western Railway green and he had the North Western Railway logos painted in Great Western green, but he still has his Great Western Railway logos. He was also given the number 8 in a number plate, but he still has his great western railway numbers on the coal bunker section. One more thing, he has a North Western Railway green nameplate with Great Western Railway green frames. You can say he is a mix between his Railway Series and TV series counterparts and to be honest, I was satisfied with this. I really like how I made him in my AU.

Donald and Douglas the Scottish Twins

Donald and Douglas the Scottish Twins

Here we have Donald and Douglas the Scottish Twins. I have to say that drawing these two brothers was very hard, but I got them done in the end. In my AU, I wanted Donald Douglas to have blue like in the Railway Series books, however in my AU, they have sapphire blue paint with white stripes. I really like how they look. The North Western Railway logos on their cab are also white. Their numbers 9 and 10 look 3D. Donald and Douglas also have white nameplates with teal frames. I hope you guys like how I drew the Scottish twins.

Oliver the Great Western Engine

Oliver th Great Western Engine

Here is Oliver the Great Western Engine in the modern era of Sodor in my AU. Like Duck, he has his Great Western Railway logos on his side tanks and he also has the North Western Railway logos in Great Western Railway green, he has his Great Western numbers and his North Western Railway number 11, he is painted in the North Western Railway green color and he has his North Western Railway green nameplate with Great Western Railway green frames. I really like how Oliver turned out in my AU.

Emily the Emrald Engine

Emily the Emrald Engine
Emily the Emerald Engine's modern look.jpg

Here is the the beautiful emerald engine herself, Emily. I have to say that drawing Emily was hard because of how she looks, not to say I hate her design, but you guys get my point because some of us had a hard time drawing her. Anyways, Emily the Emerald Engine looks so beautiful. I wanted Emily in my AU to looks special. Her color scheme is like her TV series counter part and she has her season 7 personality and she also has her CGI personalities, mainly her sass. I also gave Emily the North Western Railway logos on her cab in yellow paint and I also gave her number 12 on her tender like in the episode, Emily to the rescue. Speaking of Emily's tender, I made the lines look like the other engines tender because the boxes on Emily didn't suit me well. She has a yellow nameplate with emerald green frames, she has emerald green on her lips because I wanted Emily to look beautiful. One more thing, Emily was built the same year as Percy the Small Engine in my AU. I know that sounds unrealistic because Emily's basis was built in 1870-1895, but hey, it's my head-canon. And that's how Emily looks in the modern era of my AU. I hope you guys like it.
